Breanna and Linda.

The church school offers programming during the 10 a.m. Sunday services from September through June each year.

Sunday School provides a safe and welcoming environment for children to explore the meaning and mystery of the Bible and how it relates to their lives. The curriculum used is Seasons of the Spirit multi-age curriculum http://www.seasonsonline.ca/index.php. The weekly lesson plans contain a story and a variety of activities and crafts that the children really enjoy. The children attending typically range in age from 3 to 12 years.

The children begin the service with the congregation and then move on to Sunday School after the Collect. They return for communion and to share with our priest what they have done. This helps to keep the children connected with the congregation.

The children also participate in numerous activities outside of the regular Sunday School routine. Some of these activities have included:
  • pageants at Pentecost and Christmas

  • making artwork for display at an art exhibit

  • running a cookie and lemonade stand, and a toy table at church garage sales

  • an Adventure Saturday with other congregations

  • cookie sales to raise money for Haiti relief

  • baking muffins for the Algonquin College Ministry

If you have or know some kids ages 8 to 11, you may wish to introduce them to YAHERO, an exciting bible-based online virtual world created just for them. Yaheroes (Players) go on monthly quests in search of Yahweh’s truth. The Canadian Bible Society initiated this new multiplayer online game in March of 2010 and already 3,000 kids (and their parents) have subscribed. The plan is to launch this game in the U.S. market once a critical mass of Canadian kids have signed up. The goal of the game is to engage tweens with the Bible where they already are – online – and inspire a love for Scripture and improve their biblical literacy at a crucial time in their development before they typically tune out of church-related activities in their teens. Early reports indicate that despite these important and lofty goals, kids just plain love it! http://www.yahero.com/
